An Update on Life

Things have been going well this past week. My mental health is balancing out, and I feel like I'm finally getting a grip on what's going on around me again.

I am starting to believe that the trigger was my husband being home for two weeks. Going from him not being around for seven months to him all of a sudden being home all the time was a significant schedule shift. I'm starting to think those are the kinds of things that set me off. While it's obviously not ideal as being a military family comes with a lot of shifts, knowing about it is the first step to staying sane.

In the writing world, I am making great progress. Tomorrow I will hit the 75% mark for my current project.

A little update on what that project is:

This is the official book one in the Corsaw series. I've already written the prequel book (Arlo and Caleb's story). That one was originally supposed to be a novella, but it turned out to be a full-blown novel. That's the one that will be released exclusively to those who subscribe to the mailing list.

This current book is the story of Ivy and Tobias. Technically I've already written it once, but that one was not up to my standards, and I felt like major changes needed to be made. I've started and stopped this book at least three more times before finally landing on this version. Everything is going well, and that's so refreshing after all of the struggles of past versions.

And that pretty much sums up what's going on in my life right now. Next week I start homeschooling again, and then my schedule will return to what I consider normal.

I hope your August is going well and everyone is staying healthy and happy!
